Digital Transformation in University Sports: ZHS Munich partners with UniNow

With ZHS Munich (Zentraler Hochschulsport München), UniNow has gained another strong partner in the field of university sports. Since 2024, both sides have been working together on the digital implementation of a new booking system tailored to the complex requirements of one of the largest university sports institutions in Germany.

The project began with a comprehensive requirements workshop to establish the foundation for development. The goal was to fully understand ZHS's existing structures, processes, and challenges in order to create a system that is both practical and adaptable. The project was initially piloted at the ZHS locations in Weihenstephan, Triesdorf, Landshut, and Freising.

In October 2025, the digital booking system is scheduled to be introduced at the main campus in Munich. The platform will then support not only the booking of sports courses, rooms, and equipment, but also key administrative functions. These include license management, time tracking, contract handling, and a central instructor dashboard to digitally manage the entire course organization.

The collaboration was also featured in the current issue of the magazine published by the German University Sports Federation (adh). The project was highlighted as a hands-on example of digitalization in university sports and demonstrates how core processes can increasingly be managed digitally.

The partnership with ZHS Munich clearly shows that digitalization is more than just optimizing processes. It opens up new possibilities, simplifies complex workflows, and creates opportunities for future-oriented university sports offerings—at the Munich campus and beyond.
