Number of participants and participation
A total of 16,267 people took part in the survey, in which 214 universities were assessed. The survey period was from October 2024 to December 2024.
Qualification criterion
A university was considered qualified if it received more than 50 votes in the survey.
Calculation of the index value
The Index score is based on a star rating for the survey conducted via the campus apps (UniNow and UniNow's white label apps). This score related to how digital the universities are in various areas such as lectures, facilities and administration. The score was standardized on a scale of 0 to 100 points for better comparability.
The index is made up of the following four dimensions, each of which is equally weighted:
Basic attitude - How do students feel about digitalization?
Competence - How confident do students feel in using digital tools?
Usage - How intensively are digital university services used?
Access - How easily are digital services available and accessible?
Each university is given an overall score on a 0-100 scale to ensure transparent comparability.
What happens if the score is the same?
If the score is the same, the college or university that has received more votes is ranked higher. If both universities have the same number of votes, they are listed alphabetically according to the name of the university.
Award and seal
The universities in the top 25 of 2025 received the "Digital Campus 2025" award and seal.
